The East End GreenFest to be held in Mattituck, NY on August 1 and 2.

A Two Day Celebration of All Things Green on the North Fork of Long Island

Mattituck, NY, July 24, 2009 –   The East End GreenFest will be held at Strawberry Fields
Fairgrounds in Mattituck, NY on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2, from 10am to
6pm daily.   The two day celebration is the first of its kind on the East End, and will
include 10 live bands and performers on a solar powered stage, local wineries, farmers’
market, renewable energy exhibits, and organic, natural, and hand-crafted products for
sale.

“The GreenFest will be very similar to the Green Fairs in Europe and San Francisco where
there is a fun atmosphere filled with live music, unique performers, and lots of energy
as people learn about ways to go Green,” said Deborah Dufton of East End GreenFest,
“It will be a weekend of good green fun for all.”

A long list of exhibitors will be attending the event from many different Green walks of
life including: Renewable Energy, Green Kids, Local Wineries, Organic and Natural
Products, Natural Health and Beauty, Green Building, Green Living, Healthy Foods and
Beverages, Green Transportation, Earth Friendly Fashion, Waste Reduction, Health and
Beauty, Local Businesses, and Non-Profit Associations.

Live music is a central part of the weekend’s festivities with many original acts including
Jaden South, the Mondays, Reality Addiction and Yukari Roja.  The stage is being
powered by Go Solar of Aquebogue, NY in what is believed to be the first concert stage
ever powered by solar energy on Long Island.

The weekend’s performers include African dancers, a contortionist, a POI arts dancer,
and lots of other unique attractions including exhibits from the Atlantis Aquarium and
The Riverhead Foundation.

A variety of local and national non profit organizations including the Sierra Club and
Nature Conservancy will be at the event and the GreenFest has teamed up with the Harry
Chapin Food Bank as a designated drop off for LI Cares.   The GreenFest asks all
attendees to bring non-perishable food items, household items, personal care products
and pet food on each day to support Long Island Cares.

Tickets for the GreenFest are available at the gate for $3 for adults and children 12 and
under are FREE.    Strawberry Fields Fairgrounds is located on Route 48 in Mattituck, NY.
